Biennial Conference 2009The CTU's Biennial Conference took place on 21 and 22 October 2009 in Wellington.
The conference was addressed by CTU President Helen Kelly (speech notes here), Prime Minister John Key, Labour Party leader Phil Goff and Green Party co-leader Russell Norman. Jeff Lawrence, Secretary of the Australian Council of Trade Unions gave a guest presentation on aspects of recent Australian union experience. Jeff Lawrence's presentation included the short video Australian Unions: Working for a Better Life which can be viewed by clicking on the picture below.

In addition to the remits discussed and voted on at the conference, affiliates also voted in favour of the conference resolution at the close of day 2 - Click here for full text of the resolution.
On day 2 of the conference CTU Economist and Policy Director launched the CTU's Alternative Economic Strategy discussion paper: Press release / Executive summary / Full discussion document
