What if my employer files for bankruptcy?
If a business is unable to continue operating it may become insolvent. In those circumstances any unpaid wages will be recoverable in accordance with Schedule 7 of the Companies Act 1993. Employees owed wages and holiday pay are priority creditors so will, subject to there being any money left, be able to recover that money.
