International Solidarity with the people of Burma

A talk by Ko Naing Ko, International Campaigns Director of the Federation of Trade Unions of Burma.

The “fighting peacock” is the flag of the Burmese student movement and a symbol of the struggle for democracy in Burma.

Burma is a poor country which has struggled for many years under a brutal military dictatorship. Movements in resistance to the military and for democracy in the country have often been led by students, along with other workers’ and peoples’ organisations. Come to this meeting to hear from an experienced member of the Burmese democracy movement about the struggle of his people for freedom, and what we can do to support it.
