Auckland - Joint Union and Employer Partnership Programme meeting

Tripartite forums were recommended by the 2007/08 Accredited Employer Programme (AEP) review.
They are intended for Accredited Employers, Union representatives and ACC to meet and receive  AEP review information about the ACC Partnership Programme and to discuss issues  relating the programme.

The agenda includes presentations by both the CTU and Business NZ on Employee/Union participation in the audit process.


Issues identified by the CTU include:

• Union experiences with the Partnership Programme audit process- feedback from the Union forums
• Benefits of union /employee participation in the process
• Ideas for improved Union/Employer engagement around the audit process

Employer manufacturers Association (EMA) will discuss  the following issues:

• Difficulties in getting unions to take part in the audit process
• Good faith issues, in particular the Partnership Programme audit being used as a vehicle for pursuing other industrial issues for (example refusal to be involved)
Dealing with specific issues that arise in the audit:
• Where specific problems are bought up with the auditor by employees/employee reps, these may be to do with H&S or to do with individual work injury claims, how should these be dealt with if they identify specific individuals (which means they are not appropriate for inclusion in the audit report

Presentations will be followed by a group discussion between employers and unions   who will provide feedback.   Make sure your union is represented, this is a good opportunity for unions and employers to meet and  discuss issues relating to the programme.
