Health and Safety Representative Training
In 2002 unions campaigned for better health and safety law. Now unions are getting behind a new campaign called Unions Talking Health and Safety. Were campaigning to make sure our new law leads to healthier and safer workplaces. Elected Health and Safety Representatives are key to the law working well, to date we have trained over 20,000 reps.
Learning Reps
Learning Reps are elected by employees to help them get ahead with learning at work. They can advise co-workers on opportunities for learning, work with management on company training plans and, most important, promote training that will build a career for workers. Click here for more information.
Organising Centre
The Auckland Organising Centre coordinates the CTU education and organising work as part of the Rebuilding Unionism strategy.
Workplace Productivity Education Project
The NZ Council of Trade Unions Workplace Productivity Education Project (WPEP) is a new initiative, funded by the Department of Labour. It arises from a joint exercise on productivity involving business and union representatives and the government. It is part of a broad series of actions and initiatives that, combined, are designed to enhance productivity in New Zealand. The project provides opportunities for workers to engage in discussion and education on productivity, addressing both the risks and benefits. Click here for more information.
