Message to Amcor Flexibles: Kiwi Workers and Families Won’t Tolerate Lockout Bullying

“Amcor Flexibles should immediately end its lockout of more than 50 factory workers in Auckland and get back to the negotiating table,” CTU president Ross Wilson said today.

“This is the second time in a year that an Australian employer has locked workers out to force their workers to accept the employer demands by starving them into submission.”

“All working New Zealanders know that this sort of bullying corporate behaviour is unfair and unacceptable.”

“Last year when Progressive Enterprises tried it on with supply chain workers, they provoked an unprecedented level of action from working New Zealanders and their families and communities, support which quickly became international.

"The whole New Zealand union movement will be watching the actions of Amcor over the next few days very closely,” Ross Wilson said.

Ends.  File note: the Lockout ended on Friday May 4, see the story Lockout ends with workers’ victory on the EPMU website.
