CTU President Helen Kelly flies to Australia today to meet with Sharan Burrow, the newly elected General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).
The ITUC represents 176 million workers in 156 countries.
Helen Kelly says “I will take this opportunity to discuss with Sharan the attacks on worker rights in New Zealand.”
Sharan Burrow is also due to visit New Zealand in early August and if this visit is confirmed the CTU will discuss in more detail what actions can be taken to support the rights of New Zealand workers.
