Madonna vows to flout St Petersburg Law - Madonna will be touring Russia in August and she has vowed to speak against St Petersburg anti-gay law when she holds here concert there. This move could see her charged with the vity assemblyman who wrote the law, Vitaly Milanov, stating that he is willing to attend the concern so that if she does speak in support of GLBT laws that she will be charged. The law that came into effect in March 2012 prohibits "the propaganda of homosexuality and pedophelia among minors" which is believed to make reading, writing, or speaking about GLBTi people a criminal offence and comes with a large fine. Lesbian wins long battle over ECT therapy - Joan Bellingham, a Christchurch lesbian, has finally received a much overdue apology from the Crown for being wrongly diagnosed as schizophrenic and given ECT plys soap and water enemas. The 59-year old Bellingham was commited to Princess Margaret Hospital when she was an openly lesbian 17-year old nursing student by one of her tutors. Between 1970 and 1982 Bellingham was admitted hospital 24 times and had about 200 ECT treatments and kept highly medicated. Click here to read more.
Tamati Coffey to host NZ's Got Talent - Tamati Coffey, TV One's roving gay weather reporter, has been announced as the host of this upcoming new series. Details are still very light in details but the show will be travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand to find New Zealand's next big talent.
