The Employment Relations Law Reform Bill before Parliament will help to ensure basic principles of fairness in the workplace, but it needs strengthening to effectively promote collective bargaining, ensure meaningful good faith provisions, end freeloading by non-union members, protect vulnerable workers in transfer situations, and prevent gender discrimination.

The Bill will benefit everybody; secure, happy workers make for a stronger economy.

I urge you to actively support the Bill, and the amendments proposed by the Council of Trade Unions.
