To have your say in the election on Nov 26, you need to be on the electoral roll - and turn up to vote.

  • There are around 380,000 union members in New Zealand. If everyone in those households gets on the electoral roll and votes then that will make a big difference to the election outcome
  • NZ law states you must enrol if you are a NZ citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18
  • You must be enrolled to be able to vote on Nov 26
  • If you enrol before Oct 26 you will be sent an EasyVote card in the mail, you will be on the printed roll and you will find it much easier to vote on the day
  • However you can enrol up till Nov 25 (the day before the election)but if it’s after Oct 26 you will have to cast a special vote
  • People who have not received an enrolment update pack by now are not enrolled or have changed address
  • All anyone needs to do to enrol is to fill out an enrolment form. If there's any doubt, just fill one out.
