CTU Organising Centre
The Organising Centre works with affiliate Unions in developing and implementing campaigns and building organising capacity by:
- Providing Union education and training for Paid Officials and Senior Delegates.
- Co-ordination and assistance for unions around ERE (Employment Relations Education)
- Providing facilitation for Unions around planning.
- Sharing best practice and innovation across the Union movement locally and internationally.
- Assisting and supporting industry and sector campaigns and projects.
- Assisting and supporting CTU initiatives.
- Working with Unions to build their capacity to provide education for members, delegates and activists.
- Working with and supporting Te Runanga and CTU representative structures (Komiti Pasifika, Stand Up, Out@Work and Women’s Council)
The Organising Centre is based in Auckland and operates across New Zealand Aotearoa.

The CTU Organising Centre co-ordinates and delivers a national programme of cross union education for delegates, activists and union staff.

A comprehensive five-day workshop for Organisers and senior, experienced delegates in the latest skills and techniques on how to organise workers, plus build and strengthen your union.
Please Note: This programme is in two blocks. It is essential that participants attend all five workshop days.

Advanced Training Skills

This programme is for the ongoing professional development of experienced Union Educators, or for those who have education responsibilities. The programme is being organised by the CTU Organising and Education Group. Topics covered include:
- Building relationships with the community
- Engaging young workers in political activity
- Developing activists beyond the workplace
- The application of education in a campaign/organising context
- Identifying the challenges ahead and developing strategies to overcome this

Educating to Organise: Union Education Design and Facilitation Workshop

This new three-day course offers more than an education design and facilitation course by focusing on integrating our education and organising; assisting our members to experience their collective power to win in their workplaces and to win campaigns. This new workshop replaces our four-day Training Skills programme.
The Educating to Organise seminar will unpack and practice workshop education and workplace devleopment approaches, frameworks and techniques to progress our unions' organising. It will benefit both new and experienced officials who have responsibility for delegate and member education.
