A two-day workshop, run in partnership with WorksafeReps, is designed for union organisers on learning the skills, knowledge and understanding of health and safety organising for achieving sustainable processes and practices that create good workplace H & S. The course examines the key elements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and associated regulations, understanding the rights and responsibilities of health and safety representatives, and how to go about creating the right conditions for their election, support, learning and development.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Explain the use of organising methods to build workers’ power to win safe and healthy jobs and workplaces
- Explain the key principles and practices that underpin good health and safety in the workplace
- Outline the key elements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and how it operates
- Explain the basic rights and responsibilities of elected health and safety representatives
Please note that this course is approved for ERE leave (Course 726).
The minimum number for the course to go ahead is 10.
