About the Role:

 Job Description

  • Proactively perform a high level of membership administrative tasks, with specific responsibility for the maintenance of the union’s data base so records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of members through both direct contact and digital engagement strategies by using electronic tools and applications including NICE, communication application
  • Understand the importance of the database to the E tū ’s effective operation, its strategic planning, reporting and decision making
  • Maintain regular contact with members and employers with the objective of maintaining accurate member and employer contact details; and assisting delegates update the site records on a regular basis
  • Promote the union’s image by responding to member and prospective member enquiries in a timely and courteous manner, being aware of the relationship of member numbers to the union’s financial position and strategic goals
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of members in all union activities
  • Adapt to and adopt new technologies, digital communication tools, and organisational processes as they evolve
  • Ensure that all budget costs are met as per the current E tū Strategic Plan, Policies and Budget
  • Ensure that E tū Policies are implemented and adhered to

 Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of database system and business intelligence reporting
  • Fast and accurate data entry
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong numeracy and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Using Microsoft Office (intermediate level), including AI tools
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and initiative.
  • Able to deal with a variety of people at all attitude levels.
  • Enthusiasm and cheerfulness.
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of the role of Unions
  • Strong communication skills including writing, speaking and listening – ability to convey information to others clearly
  • Ability to prioritise and manage changing priorities using common sense and initiative
  • A commitment to union values and strategic goals
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tools and systems, including CRM, digital platforms, and NICE communication tools
  • Current NZ driver license (desirable)
  • General administrative experience (desirable)

This is a part-time, one year fixed term.  Salary will be pro-rated to contracted hours.
