About the role:
We are looking for an Organising Support Officer (OSO) to join our national office team. The role provides administration support for the NZEI Te Riu Roa teams that implement our strategies and campaigns at national level.
- Contribute to the development of plans and activities for the national office
- Manage datasets of affected occupational groups for campaign team
- Checking and coding of invoices for campaign activities and hui
- Ensure that travel and accommodation for member leaders and national office staff is arranged
- Manage information gathering to support campaign/project activities such as developing surveys (usually in Typeform)
- Ensure that the national office is equipped with necessary resources and order supplies as required
- Practical meeting support – venue booking, catering requirements and on-the-day support
Skills and experience:
- A high level of skill in developing and implementing administrative systems and practices
- Confidence in using Excel to manage and manipulate large datasets
- Confidence in learning and applying new software, such as software to arrange meetings and our Client Relations Manager (CRM) that records information about our membership
- Relevant work experience, such as supporting the work of a team
- An interest in education, unionism and social justice issues.
