PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi | Campaign Organiser | Wellington (Fixed Term (10 months) Full-time)

The PSA is looking for an organiser to lead and deliver our general election campaign. The PSA’s 95,000 members are at the heart of the issues and events that will shape the 2026 General Election – and you would be right in the midst of it.

In this role you’ll use the full range of campaigning and organising skills to engage our 95,000 members and the voting public with our campaign for proper resourcing of public, community, health care and local government services, for decent work and a better Aotearoa.

You’d be supported by a network of committed campaigners nationwide and will work with them to organise campaign events, leverage national and regional media opportunities and build and maintain strong networks with like-minded organisations.

What we’re looking for
To thrive in this role you’ll bring:

  • The ability to create and implement campaign strategies and plans that get results
  • A track record of implementing effective campaigns and community engagement
  • A can-do attitude, utilising your problem solving skills to deliver time-sensitive quality campaign activities
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary communications and campaigns team to leverage maximum exposure for our campaign events
  • The ability to support and develop community leaders in campaign settings 
  • Proven digital and social media campaigning skills
  • Strong writing, including speech writing, and message development skills
  • A broad understanding of the political environment and the political and industrial role of unions

The PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi is committed to honouring Te Tiriti O Waitangi across our organisation and our work. Knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori will therefore be an advantage.

What we’re offering

The salary range for this position is $100,285 to $134,450 per annum pro rata, plus allowances where applicable. New employees enter the range on a starting rate based upon previous relevant experience and commensurate with internal relativities.
