Advanced Training Skills

This two-day workshop aims to strengthen participants’ learning and development methods, so they can be more effective when facilitating learning with fellow staff in their unions, and with members in the field.


Learning Outcomes

By the end of the day participants can expect to:

  • Be able to define the difference between ‘training’ and ‘development’
  • Explain and use adult learning methods
  • Explain the key elements of union education
  • Explain the role of the ‘messenger’ when developing others
  • Learn new frameworks and techniques that simplify skill development
  • Practice designing a short development session

Audience: this workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to expand and/or sharpen their methods for developing others. This may include educators, education organisers, lead organisers, or organisers who are developing workplace leaders.
