The PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi is the largest union in New Zealand, Aotearoa and is an innovative and dynamic organisation employing 200 staff throughout New Zealand. We have more than 95,000 members working in central and local government, health and community services. The PSA has two Legal Officer vacancies, one full time position and a part time 0.5 FTE position. These are permanent positions preferably based in our Wellington Office as part of an experienced and high performing team.
We are looking for legal officers who are politically astute and supportive of the union movement, experienced in the application of employment law, committed to improving the quality of our members’ working lives and are able to travel throughout New Zealand. A legal officer will have the ability to hold a current practising certificate.
The PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi is committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi across our organisation and the work we do. Knowledge of te reo and tikanga Māori will therefore be an advantage.
The salary range for a Legal Officer is $96,428 to $129,279 along with generous terms and conditions. New employees enter the range on a starting rate based upon previous relevant experience and commensurate with internal relativities. Progression to the top of the scale is by regular and automatic service steps.
