The Tertiary Education Union (TEU) is looking for a new Communications and Campaigns Officer.
We are an activist led, organising and campaigning union working across all parts of the tertiary
education sector. We are looking for a person to fill this exciting and challenging role.
We are an education union committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a similar commitment will be
expected from the appointee. The TEU’s commitment to, and policies concerning, Te Tiriti o
Waitangi and our whāinga will be instrumental throughout the roles and responsibilities of the
Communications and Campaigns Officer.
We are seeking an experienced Communications and Campaigns Officer to organise campaigns and
advance the work of the TEU and its members.
The successful applicant will have considerable experience in the union movement and, ideally, a
tertiary qualification, demonstratable experience in communicating, campaigns and the media and
knowledge of and competence in te reo Māori me ngā tikanga. However experienced candidates
who don’t meet all these criteria should still apply.
The position reports to the National Secretary of the union.
