ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
The CTU reserves the right to set entry requirements for courses and if necessary (in consultation with unions), limit attendance to ensure a fair balance between unions.
COURSE APPROVAL:
The CTU Education Programme will clearly indicate which courses have been approved for EREL purposes. It will be the responsibility of unions to comply with any EREL requirements for course participants.
COURSE NUMBERS:
The minimum number required to run courses will be 12. The maximum number will not exceed 18 participants.
COURSE COSTS:
The standard CTU course cost is $100 (ex-GST) per day per participant. There is a 10% discount for two or more enrolments from the same union. Note: The Organising for Healthier and Safer Workplaces course is $150 (ex-GST) per day to help cover the extra cost of an external facilitator and resources.
Course invoices will be sent to participating unions prior to the start of the workshop.
Please note: Failure to advise non-attendance of a participant at least three days prior to the beginning of a course will mean the union will still be invoiced for the course.
All courses will be advertised by email at least one month prior to the course date. Registrations must be made via the CTU’s Lil Regie course registration link on the email no later than two weeks prior to the course date. When unions are enrolling participants, they are undertaking that the enrolled persons will attend the full course.
Late registrations will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Non-attendance conditions will still apply.
COMMUNICATION:
All communication about courses will be via email unless specifically requested by a union
ATTENDANCE:
Participants are expected to attend the entire length of any course unless they have made specific arrangements with the course facilitator.
TRANSFERS:
If someone is registered for an event but can no longer attend, another person can attend in their place if the CTU is informed of this before the first day of the course.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:
Should a participant or their union wish to cancel a booking within 7 days of a course starting, no refund will be available. A 50% registration fee refund will be paid 8 to 14 days before a course starts. A full refund is payable when a cancellation is made more than two weeks from a course starting.
In the event of non-attendance due to sickness, it is the responsibility of the Union to advise CTU of non-attendance as soon as practicable. A credit for the course will be issued for these situations.
CHANGES TO CONTENT, POSTPONEMENT, COURSE CANCELLATION, ONLINE LEARNING:
The CTU reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course where there are insufficient registrations (i.e., less than the minimum 12 participants). The CTU will make every effort to give at least a full ten days’ notice of cancellation. In the event of cancellation of a course, our liability is limited to the refund of registration fees if these have been paid.
As an alternative to cancellation due to insufficient registrations, the CTU may offer the option of facilitating the course using the CTU’s Learning Management Platform, iQualify.
The CTU may alter the times, dates, and content of an event with notice to participants and their unions as appropriate. Notification will be based on the information held on a participant’s booking, so it may be an administrative person who is advised. While the CTU apologies for any inconvenience that may be caused, the CTU will not be liable for any loss or damages arising from such changes.
FORCE MAJEURE
The CTU is not liable for any costs associated with cancellation of a course due to a Force Majeure event. Likewise, Unions will not be liable for any registration fee associated with a course cancelled due to Force Majeure.
