The NZCTU opposes the Crimes Amendment Bill. Focusing on the amendments to the citizen’s arrest and defence of property provisions in this Bill, the NZCTU outlines serious issues that these changes will have on worker safety. Overall this Bill promotes poor health and safety practice to the detriment of workers, and we recommend that it does not proceed.
