The Tertiary Education Union (TEU) is looking for a new Legal Officer. We are an activist led, organising and campaigning union working across all parts of the tertiary education sector. We are looking for a person to fill this exciting and challenging role.

We are seeking an experienced Legal Officer, who is a barrister and solicitor. The role will support the Union and its staff, provide advice, opinions and assist with the development of resources that empower the industrial arm of the Union. The role will also provide representation on individual or collective member cases in employment related fora. The applicant should be committed to union values, ongoing training and with experience in employment law.

The role will be part-time at 0.6-0.8 fte, with generous provisions negotiated in the TEU Staff collective agreement.

The position reports to the National Secretary of the Union.
