VACANCY FOR UNION ORGANISER
Union Organiser – Auckland
Salary: Between $87,465 and $101,670 per annum depending on experience. You will be also provided with a car, laptop and phone, along with generous the provisions of the staff collective agreement.
The Union is seeking expressions of interest for the vacant position of Union Organiser for
the Auckland region, operating out of the Auckland office in Onehunga.
This is a full-time predominantly covering retail, finance, and commerce, and to perform any other duties as reasonably required by the Union leadership from time to time including in the area of transport logistics and manufacturing.
The primary objective of this position is to build union membership, delegate numbers and
raise awareness of the benefits of Union membership and collective action of workers
engaged in our sectors.
The successful applicant will be required to:
▪ Have a clear understanding of union organising.
▪ Have good one-to-one and group communication skills and have a strong
commitment to giving workers the opportunity to be part of a union.
▪ Promote and support effective workplace leaders (delegates).
▪ Represent members and providing support, and ensure delegates are involved.
▪ Act as an advocate in negotiating collective employment agreements.
▪ Have good I.T. and writing skills.
▪ A clean current driver’s license.
▪ A good work ethic
